Black America

African American men are in a crisis. There are 1.4 million between 16 and 24 whom do not work and are out of school. The sad reality is that almost 5 thousand are claimed to be violent before age 30. Whether we realize it or not, blacks need to vote and our opinion should matter. When you put race and gender together it becomes an uncompromising situation to deal with. Now take the African American woman, she is 70% likely to be a single parent and on welfare. And if you bring HIV/AIDS into play, where is black america headed?

Are these women marriage material?

Is this the woman you wanna marry? Would she be faithful? Can you take her home to momma? Will she make a good mother to your children? Dancing and shaking their butts for $$.Is this the way we want our daughter to be when they grow up? You tell me.

Being Gay..Do we really accept it?

Times have come a long way. By this I mean now a days you turn on the tube and find stuff on like "The L Word" (on showtime) showing nothing but lesbian activity, all before 10:00pm, so this means that our kids are still up. And if anybody is like me, my child has children have cable in there room.(luckily I have a filter on the t.v's) Why do we,especially in the black community, tend to frown on the man whom is gay but we accept or should I say don't say much about a female being a lesbian? Gay is gay right? So when it come to brothers being down low or coming out of the close, we are on the phone with the next person running our mouths. But when a sista comes out the closet and she's probably been gay longer that her male counter part, we say she is experimenting or she's been in a trouble relationship. Why are we(not just black people) so hypocritical?

Can married men have women best friends?

We've all heard it before "she's just my friend" but can a man in a serious relationship or one whom is married have a woman as a friend? It's already hard to find love but staying in love is the battle. So when one has to compete with a female counter part for her mate, this can not only be tricky but turn out ugly if you know what I mean. For those whom have met the best friend or not, does infidelity ever cross your mind because you know this person is of the opposite sex? (weather attractive or not) What about for those quote "best friends" whom call at funny hours or the ones that call upon your man to do every task they have. Let's say your mate says she has a man, does it make a difference then? Well, all I know in today's society I wouldn't put nothing past nothing.
