Black America
African American men are in a crisis. There are 1.4 million between 16 and 24 whom do not work and are out of school. The sad reality is that almost 5 thousand are claimed to be violent before age 30. Whether we realize it or not, blacks need to vote and our opinion should matter. When you put race and gender together it becomes an uncompromising situation to deal with. Now take the African American woman, she is 70% likely to be a single parent and on welfare. And if you bring HIV/AIDS into play, where is black america headed?

Are these women marriage material?
Is this the woman you wanna marry? Would she be faithful? Can you take her home to momma? Will she make a good mother to your children? Dancing and shaking their butts for $$.Is this the way we want our daughter to be when they grow up? You tell me.

Being Gay..Do we really accept it?
Times have come a long way. By this I mean now a days you turn on the tube and find stuff on like "The L Word" (on showtime) showing nothing but lesbian activity, all before 10:00pm, so this means that our kids are still up. And if anybody is like me, my child has children have cable in there room.(luckily I have a filter on the t.v's) Why do we,especially in the black community, tend to frown on the man whom is gay but we accept or should I say don't say much about a female being a lesbian? Gay is gay right? So when it come to brothers being down low or coming out of the close, we are on the phone with the next person running our mouths. But when a sista comes out the closet and she's probably been gay longer that her male counter part, we say she is experimenting or she's been in a trouble relationship. Why are we(not just black people) so hypocritical?

Can married men have women best friends?
We've all heard it before "she's just my friend" but can a man in a serious relationship or one whom is married have a woman as a friend? It's already hard to find love but staying in love is the battle. So when one has to compete with a female counter part for her mate, this can not only be tricky but turn out ugly if you know what I mean. For those whom have met the best friend or not, does infidelity ever cross your mind because you know this person is of the opposite sex? (weather attractive or not) What about for those quote "best friends" whom call at funny hours or the ones that call upon your man to do every task they have. Let's say your mate says she has a man, does it make a difference then? Well, all I know in today's society I wouldn't put nothing past nothing.

What's wrong black woman?
So they role their eyes and necks, snap their fingers and often use words like a sailor. Is there a justification for this type of behavior or are black women just plain silly? We've all heard that a black woman just doesn't give a man a chance let alone the world a chance. They are often labeled as gold diggers, bithces, hoes with attitudes and unfit mothers. But the last time I checked, white as well as hispanic women could catch an attitude just as good and a lot of them are unfit mothers and hoes too. So why does society focus only on our sista's or better yet african americans in general?

Hip hop video models
When you turn on a hip hop video today all you see is "Ass". What happened to the back in the day videos? In the early 80's through late 90's you would see some good hearted videos. For example, Common, or P.Diddy, (well when He was Puffy) featuring Mase with the shiny suites on or A Tribe Called Quest and so on. Ya know, good music, good videos. Now adays I feel like I'm watching soft porn but then it depends on what video your talking about cause some of them are just straight up flicks! Have you seen Nelly's "Tip Drill" the uncut version. Or the one 50 Cents made. I'm not knocking the men for their craft but what about the tons of ladies whom line up to participate. My grandma would say if your showing that much skin, you would be labeled as a whore. But who are we to classify? Is it safe to call these women out of there names because of what they do? I'm sure as with any job they have to apply. And on that application I'm sure it states the requirements. Are they Hoe's and Bitches because they stay for the interview? We don't know the back ground of these young ladies, some may be students, moms, full time corporate world workers, wives etc. just needing to make some extra cash and this unfortunately is a quick way for most. What cha think?

Should Barack be President?
Obama has gained the support of both young and old. Pundits and partisans have called the 2008 elections one of the most important in history. Over the past year he has gotten the black community to display energy unmatched my any other presidential contender. He as a message for all the people, not just black people. Do you feel that we as African Americans only want Barack to be president because he is black? Do you feel that having him in office will truly change the society of black people? We know that we are ready for a black president but are the white people. Jesse Jackson ran in 1984 and 1988. Now here we are in 2008. Will it happen?

Does prison really help our men to change?
We all know that the saying "you do the crime you do the time" but is prison really helping our young black men's mentality? We have all seen shows on t.v. such as Lock Down, and Prison Break etc.. are these shows depicting reality? I think so. There are more gangs in jail than there are on the streets. It's all about surviving once a person is locked up. But why does it have to be that way? Are these men social skills being developed healthfully so when they do see day light again that they know how to conduct themselves? NOPE!! Not only does one have to deal with fights and the possibility of their man hood being taken, you have the guards better yet the whole prison system ran incorrectly. What is correct when it come to prison you may ask. Well for starters t he food should be hot, no matter what crime a person did to get there. Showers should be allowed more than once/twice a week. If you ask me it should be funky as heck in there. And during lock down, why does everyone on the "block" as they call it have to miss chow because of ones man's behavior. I'm sure we all know or have a relative whom is locked up be it male or female. the black community is all ready suffering. The world is already in turmoil. I know that there is no justification for those men who've raped, murdered, sold drugs to there own kind or committed other repeated attacks but theses same people are our brothers, fathers, friends, uncles and sons. So do we turn or back or do we need to ask WHY? Where did it all go wrong. I have a sibling who is looked up. To most, he is a thief, attacker and drug user. To me, he is sweet, funny, cute and my brother no matter what. We had a good life growing up, mom worked two jobs(y'all know the story) but I feel that he just got lost hanging with the wrong crowd. So do I throw him away now. No I just look at who he is and not what he did.
